Courtney Lee

It’s getting to the point where the New York Knicks have learned to turn to Courtney Lee when all else fails. He may not be the player who carries the offense, but his timely contributions have saved the Knicks from early disaster throughout the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons.

It’s on his teammates to do the rest of the legwork, but Lee continues to step up and lead the team on offense when it can’t seem to do anything else right.

Lee finished the clash with his former team with 24 points, three assists, one rebound, and a steal in 38 minutes of action. He shot 10-of-17 from the field and 4-of-6 from beyond the arc, including a three that tied the game just before the buzzer that ended the first half.

Lee scored seven points in the first 3:43 of the third quarter alone, thus providing New York with the necessary firepower to find itself in a position to win.

Lee’s defense is what he’s known for, but he’s proving that being clutch isn’t limited to game-winners. He took over the third quarter, buried a vital shot at the end of the second, and even stepped up in the fourth quarter when the Knicks desperately needed a bucket.

Lee has been doing this for the better part of two seasons, but he’s finally receiving a spotlight with Tim Hardaway Jr. sidelined by injury.
