The New York Knicks will travel to play the rival Indiana Pacers on Monday, Dec. 4. What must New York do to secure the victory in Indianapolis?

Throughout the 1990s, the New York Knicks and the Indiana Pacers were the most bitter of rivals. Patrick Ewing and Reggie Miller provided the Hall of Fame firepower, the postseason provided the backdrop to a number of legendary games and series, and the fans never hesitated to get involved.

On Monday, Dec. 4, the rivalry will resume when the Knicks travel to Indianapolis to play the Pacers at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

Monday will mark the second encounter between the Knicks and Pacers during the 2017-17 NBA regular season. The first time around, New York erased a 19-point deficit to defeat the Pacers by a score of 108-101 at Madison Square Garden.

It was a breakout performance for franchise player Kristaps Porzingis, who scored a career-high 40 points and blocked six shots to lead New York to its first victory in the new chapter of this rivalry.

Unfortunately, both Porzingis and starting shooting guard Tim Hardaway Jr. will miss the clash with Indiana on Monday. The Knicks’ top two scorers missed Sunday’s 105-100 loss to the Orlando Magic, as well, which brings the tally to two straight absences.

The question is: What will the keys to victory be when the New York Knicks travel to play the Indiana Pacers on Monday, Dec. 4?
