New York Knicks: Who stepped up against the Houston Rockets?
Courtney Lee
There may not be a more reliable player on the current roster than veteran shooting guard Courtney Lee. A basketball metronome, Lee plays with the same level of intensity on both ends of the floor, regardless of the opponent or venue.
Against the Houston Rockets, Lee continued what’s become an invigorating season as the veteran leader of this generally inexperienced New York Knicks team.
Lee posted 17 points, four assists, two rebounds, and a steal during his 33 minutes of court time. He shot 6-of-11 from the field, went 3-of-8 from beyond the arc, and converted both of his attempts from the free throw line.
It was yet another efficient scoring performance by Lee, who has scored at least 15 points in each of the past three games.
Lee is the type of player who picks his spots and strikes when his teammates need him most. Lee did his best to repeat past performances against Houston, and although the end result was a loss, Lee never stopped fighting for the win.
Lee may not always have the most explosive of performances, but his effort and shooting are as reliable as they come—and the clash with Houston was no exception.
