The New York Knicks have turned to a slew of perimeter talent with long-term potential. The veteran leader of the group is 32-year-old shooting guard Courtney Lee, who has led by example on both ends of the floor.

Against the Sacramento Kings, Lee continued the trend of being one of the Knicks’ primary sources of both offensive stability and defensive tenacity.

Lee went off for a season-high 20 points, shooting 7-of-9 from the field, 5-of-6 from beyond the arc, and 1-of-2 at the free throw line. He added three assists and two rebounds, and stepped up with yet another committed performance on defense.

Lee scored 15 of his points in the first half alone, when he joined Kristaps Porzingis in building the Knicks’ lead with dominant two-way performances.

Lee played a grand total of 30 minutes against the Kings, accumulating a +/- of +20 during the 27-point win. His play on both ends of the floor not only keyed the victory, but helped further establish the commitment to the vision of New York playing at a high level on both ends.

With 20 points against the Kings, nine assists against the Charlotte Hornets, and four steals against the Orlando Magic, Lee’s veteran versatility has been on full display.
