Jarrett Jack

Per usual, Jarrett Jack deferred more often than he shot. That’s proven to be the perfect approach for the New York Knicks, however, as it’s enabled his teammates to make a mark of their own on the games they play.

When the Knicks went up against the Sacramento Kings, Jack played an instrumental role in establishing the flow on offense.

Jack’s stat line was somewhat subtle, but he did his damage as a facilitator and pace-setting veteran. He scored five points, dished out six assists, and pulled down two rebounds during his 26 minutes of efficient action.

Jack not only shot 2-of-3 from the field and 1-of-1 from beyond the three-point line, but amassed a +/- of +17—a testament to the quality of his performance.

It’s telling that head coach Jeff Hornacek continues to trust Jack to get the ball to both the starters and the reserves. Jack has been a calming voice during the moments that the scorers may be tempted to gun, and a vital contributor to the flow of the offense when it’s thriving.

The numbers may not always be flashy for Jack, but his leadership on and off of the court has been a driving force behind New York’s 7-5 start.
