The New York Knicks are off to a 6-5 start to the 2017-18 NBA regular season. Here are statistics that should convince you to embrace the optimism.

The New York Knicks are coming off of one of the more difficult losses of the 2017-18 NBA regular season. Playing the second leg of a back-to-back—without the franchise player, no less—the Knicks committed 23 turnovers in a 112-99 loss to the now 7-4 Orlando Magic.

While that loss has proven to be somewhat discouraging to Knicks fans, it’s important to note that 2017-18 has been a resurgent season for the franchise.

In the first season of the Scott Perry era, New York is 6-5 through 11 games. Knicks fans are no strangers to a strong start to a regular season, but the current roster has a different element to it than the teams of the 2015-16 and 2016-17 campaigns.

After years of attempting to win by building around veterans, the Knicks have finally embraced a youth movement—and the results have been nothing short of encouraging.

By surrounding the young core with grizzled veterans, the Knicks have created a healthier environment than in past seasons. In turn, a number of players have stepped up with quality performances that have led to an above .500 record.

The question is: What statistics can you turn to as evidence of the growth and potential of the New York Knicks in 2017-18?
