Lance Thomas

Whether or not his teammates are playing defense, Lance Thomas goes out of his way to impose his will on that end of the floor. That again proved true against the Charlotte Hornets, as Thomas took the floor and defended his heart out—even when no one else would.

Between his brilliant performance in the clutch and his resilient effort on defense, Thomas may have been the Player of the Game against Charlotte.

Thomas isn’t known for his scoring, but he stepped up with 10 crucial points and five rebounds in 25 minutes. He scored five of those points during the fourth quarter, including a timely three that sparked the definitive run.

Coupled with a game-high +/- of +18, Thomas was the difference between the Knicks winning and losing for a second consecutive game.

It’s worth noting that New York had a defensive rating of 95.4 when Thomas was on the floor. That would be impressive under any circumstances, but it’s even more astonishing when one considers that no other Knick produced a defensive rating better than 108.3.

Between his clutch shooting, his lockdown defense, and his invaluable leadership, Thomas continues to establish his value to the Knicks.
