The New York Knicks will take their 0-3 record into a home game on Friday, October 27. Can the Knicks win their first game against the Brooklyn Nets?

The New York Knicks have opened the 2017-18 regular season in polarizing form. The rebuild is on and the No. 1 overall selection in the 2018 NBA Draft is three losses closer to being secured, but the shortcomings on the court have called the progress of the core players into question.

Come Friday, October 27, the Knicks will have an opportunity to silence their critics and get back on track against their bordering borough rivals.

New York has played two of its first three games on the road, but will return to Madison Square Garden on Friday. They’ll be hosting a division opponent and cross-city rival in the Brooklyn Nets, which are 3-2 through five games.

Most recently, the Nets stunned LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers with an invigorating 112-107 upset at Barclays Center.

The Nets are far from a star-studded team, but head coach Kenny Atkinson has his group working like a well-oiled machine. Matched up against the in-city barometer for short-term success, Knicks head coach Jeff Hornacek will have a chance to get his team on the same page.
