The New York Knicks previously expressed interest in Eric Bledsoe. With Bledsoe seemingly wanting to leave Phoenix, should New York reignite the trade talks?

The New York Knicks are in the early stages of a rebuild. Thus, the last thing that the organization can afford to do is give up on the vision before it can truly begin to materialize—something that would be accomplished by making a trade for a significant talent.

True as that may be, a recent revelation may have created a unique opportunity to trade for a veteran who wouldn’t necessarily conflict with the long-term vision.

New York has entered the 2017-18 NBA regular season with some measure of confusion at the point guard position. Frank Ntilikina is the future of the position, and Ron Baker has upside of his own, but the Knicks have limited value as far as established talent is concerned.

Almost on schedule, Phoenix Suns point guard Eric Bledsoe sent the basketball world into a frenzy with a tweet that implied he wants to be traded.

There’s no guaranteeing that Bledsoe was talking about the Suns, but it’s worth noting that head coach Earl Watson was fired roughly one hour after this tweet was submitted.

That certainly paints the picture of an organization on fire.

It’s worth noting that New York inquired about Bledsoe’s availability for a potential trade in mid July. Much has changed since then, but the organization could attempt to rekindle the trade talks based on the latest developments.

The question is: What would the updated pros and cons be of the New York Knicks making a trade for Phoenix Suns point guard Eric Bledsoe?
