How To Watch

Date: Saturday, October 21
Time: 8:00 p.m. ET
Venue: Madison Square Garden
Channel: MSG Network

The New York Knicks played the season opener in a nationally televised game on TNT. It was the perfect platform for franchise player Kristaps Porzingis to prove himself, but it also added to the pressure that the players around him crumbled beneath.

Come Saturday, October 21, the Knicks will face less pressure as they benefit from the incomparable comfort of home cooking—in virtually every sense of the word.

New York will host the Pistons at Madison Square Garden in its first home game of the season. The game will be played at 8:00 p.m. ET on the MSG Network, meaning fans will receive the opportunity to watch the Knicks in a true home setting.

Following a season during which the Knicks went 19-22 at Madison Square Garden, the clash with the Pistons will be an opportunity to take the first step towards an above .500 home record.

New York and Detroit played four games in 2016-17, splitting the season series at 2-2. Both teams protected their home courts, with the Knicks winning both games in New York and the Pistons doing the same in Detroit.

The hope on Saturday, October 21 will be that the new-look Knicks will be able to maintain that momentum and secure what would be a fifth consecutive home victory over the Pistons.
