Four players scored in double figures for the Knicks, but that was only a small part of the story. New York played well on offense, posting a team-wide slash line of .455/.435/.870, converting 20 free throws and assisting 22 of 35 made field goals.
New York committed 29 costly turnovers, but the sloppy play with the ball was nearly offset by the efficiency of the offense when it got into its sets.
Defensively, the Knicks made surprising progress on the boards by limiting Washington to five offensive rebounds. Jeff Hornacek’s crew limited its fouls, did a decent job of running players off the three-point line, and got back on defense in transition.
The question is: Which players stepped up for the New York Knicks during the encouraging 104-100 preseason loss to the Washington Wizards?
