The Missouri Tigers have landed arguably the biggest recruit in program history in small forward Michael Porter. Porter has the tools to become a Paul George type of contributor in the way he brings elite size and versatility to the forward positions.

Some are skeptical of whether or not Porter will be able to live up the hype, but he has a great number of fans in NBA circles.

Porter is a 6’10” forward with a 7’0″ wingspan and the skill set of a star-caliber small forward. He’s not the most explosive athlete in this daft class, but he’s fluid in his range of motion, and takes long strides in transition.

Porter is quicker than he is fast, utilizing a solid first step and doing a solid job of playing above the rim off of straight line drives.

Offensively, Porter has a soft jump shot and a tenacious competitive nature on the boards. Defensively, he projects to be able to defend both forward positions, and could also contain shooting guards if he puts the time in to improve his lateral quicknss.

If Porter manages to justify the hype at Missouri, the New York Knicks will be one of the first teams lining up to acquire him to replace Carmelo Anthony.
