The Alabama Crimson Tide have a former NBA player and head coach running the show in 1999 NBA champion Avery Johnson. Come 2017-18, the focal point of Johnson’s offense will be freshman point guard Collin Sexton.

Johnson knows what it takes to be a successful contributor to an NBA team, and Sexton is the type of open book who could heed his advice.

Sexton could very easily be ranked as one of the Top 10 players in this draft class. He stands at 6’2″ with a 183-pound frame, a 6’7″ wingspan, and the explosive athleticism to take his man off the bounce, attack closeouts, and finish above the rim.

Coupled with the end-to-end speed that will make him a blur in transition, Sexton is perfectly equipped to be a force of nature in the modern NBA.

Sexton’s shooting mechanics have improved, but his game is all about getting past the first defender and finishing in traffic. He has the defensive potential to be an ace, as well, which will appeal to teams near the top of the draft.

The New York Knicks haven’t yet shown an indication that Frank Ntilikina will be a part of a two-headed point guard monster, but Sexton would complement him well as another defensive stud and a truly lethal slasher.
