The Miami Hurricanes will have two potential lottery picks on the roster in 2017-18. The first will be incoming freshman and potential Top 5 draft pick Lonnie Walker, who has the look of a potential All-Star at the next level.

Walker recently underwent knee surgery, but he projects to be ready for the start of the season, and will face high expectations once he takes the court.

Walker is a 6’4″ and 206-pound shooting guard with a 6’10” wingspan and powerful driving ability. His jump shot is still relatively inconsistent, but he has solid mechanics and the ability to occasionally pull up off the bounce.

While he’s developing his jump shot into a weapon in his arsenal, Walker will torment teams in transition, and will be a feared threat in isolation due to his creativity, power, and quickness.

Defensively, Walker has the tools to be one of the best perimeter players in this draft class. He has the strength to defend both wing positions, and could become the type of lockdown defender that the New York Knicks want in the backcourt.

The Knicks have Tim Hardaway Jr., but Walker could be the creative and acrobatic slasher who completes the formation of the young core.
