Pro: Clutch Factor

The New York Knicks are preparing for a season of building and development. Although that implies that the goal is to build organically, that doesn’t necessarily mean New York will be attempting to tank.

In a depleted Eastern Conference, the Knicks could still make a concerted effort to reach the playoffs—an effort that Jarrett Jack could contribute to.

Throughout his career, Jack has proven to be one of the most clutch players in the NBA. When Mark Jackson was still head coach of the Golden State Warriors, Jack was often his go-to player during the final possessions of games.

Even when Jack moved on to the Cleveland Cavaliers and Brooklyn Nets, he continued to torment teams with the game on the line.

One can chalk that up to whatever they’d like, but it’s a shining example of the intangibles that make Jack special. He’s calm under pressure, which is a trait that he could help the younger generation of Knicks players learn.

The Knicks may not be gunning for the playoffs, but an organically successful season should never be shied away from—and Jack’s clutch factor could help come the fourth quarter.
