The New York Knicks have signed three players to compete or a two-way contract. Who are they and how do they compare?

Just when it seemed as though free agency had reached its end, the New York Knicks made resounding noise on between Thursday, August 17 and Friday, August 18. It ended a stretch of relative silence by by signing three players to partially guaranteed contracts.

All three players will compete the the last remaining two-way contract, but a question fairly beckons: Who will win the final spot?

The three players whom New York signed were Jamel Artis, Nigel Hayes, and Xavier Rathan-Mayes. All three went undrafted in 2017, but managed to showcase intriguing upside at the Orlando Summer League with the Knicks.

Come training camp, all three will have a chance to earn a two-way contract that would gift them 45 days on the main roster and a higher pay grade in the G League.

The Knicks have 15 players on the main roster and one player signed to a two-way contract: Luke Kornet. One of these three players could potentially join him, but it’s fair to ask: Which of Artis, Hayes, or Rathan-Mayes deserves the opportunity?

In order to answer that question, we evaluate each of the prospects and how they would fit with the New York Knicks.
