The New York Knicks have signed Jamel Artis to a partially guaranteed one-year deal. Why should you be excited about the signing?

The New York Knicks have committed to a vision that will require a blend of patience and optimism. The front office is executing a youth movement that aims to create a sustainable form of success for years to come.

In the pursuit of that fair and rational vision, the Knicks have made methodical acquisitions and additions to what’s shaping up to be a promising young core.

New York made a rush of signings between August 17 and August 18. It started with former Wisconsin Badgers hybrid forward Nigel Hayes and ended with former Florida State Seminoles point guard Xavier Rathan-Mayes.

The signing that generated the most hype and excitement amongst Knicks fans, however, was of former Pittsburgh Panthers small forward Jamel Artis.

Artis may not be a household name, but he’s the type of dynamic player whom fans could soon become enamored with.

Following a four-year career with the Pittsburgh Panthers, Artis won fans over at the Orlando Summer League. Now 24 years of age, Artis is coming off of a season that displayed just how skilled he’s become

The question is: Why should New York Knicks fans be excited about the decision to sign Jamel Artis to a partially guaranteed one-year deal?
