New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony continued his Hoodie Melo campaign by training with fellow All-Stars Kevin Durant and LeBron James.
There’s no telling how much longer this will hold true, but for the time being, Carmelo Anthony plays for the New York Knicks. He’s under contract through the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons, including the player option he has for the latter campaign.
As Anthony prepares for a potentially defining season in 2017-18, he’s enlisting the help of some of the greatest players in NBA history.
The legend of Hoodie Melo continues to grow during the 2017 offseason. He’s consistently posted workout videos that have displayed just how fluid his range of motion has become and how dominant his scoring skill set remains.
Although every video has caused a commotion, it’s the latest group of releases that has many around the NBA clamoring.
That star-studded session featured Anthony, Kevin Durant, LeBron James, and a number of other NBA players.
Joining the three perennial All-Stars were the likes of Enes Kanter, Marshall Plumlee, and J.R. Smith.
Anthony’s ability to score is established and respected. He won the 2013 scoring title, has never averaged less than 20.8 points per game through 14 NBA seasons, and ranks No. 25 on the all-time scoring list.
With 24,156 career points scored, Anthony could realistically crack the Top 20 with a 2017-18 season that’s on par with the standard he’s set for himself.
For what it’s worth, Anthony averaged 22.4 points per game in 2016-17, and scored 1,659 points overall.
Despite finding himself at the heart of trade rumors, Hoodie Melo has been one of the highlights of the 2017 offseason. He’s reminded fans of why he’s held in such high regard by flashing an arsenal of skills that most scorers could only dream of possessing.
The latest Instagram videos made an even more compelling case for the Knicks to potentially keep Anthony on the roster in 2017-18.
If not, they’ve certainly appealed to the teams that would like to acquire the 10-time All-Star.
