The New York Knicks are reportedly interested in signing Alan Anderson. What would the pros and cons of such a decision be?
The New York Knicks have committed to a vision for sustainable success. The front office has embraced a youth movement, and in doing so, it’s accepted the need to build a healthy locker room culture with the ideal veterans in tow.
As the Knicks near the completion of the construction of the roster, a last minute addition is being pondered by the front office.
New York has built a backcourt with considerable depth, but it lacks a sense of stability or short-term direction. A vast majority of the guards on the roster are inexperienced, which has thus resulted in general manager Scott Perry searching for another veteran leader.
According to Stefan Bondy of The New York Daily News, the Knicks have reached out to veteran wing Alan Anderson in an attempt to fill that void.
"The Knicks reached out to veteran wing Alan Anderson to gauge his interest in free agency, according to his agent Chris Grier Luchey, who described the talks to the Daily News as preliminary and, “Feeling out on both sides.”"
Nothing is imminent, but the front office appears to be intrigued by the possibility of adding Anderson to the mix.
Anderson has carved out a solid eight-year NBA career with five teams. Perry expressed interest in Anderson while working in Sacramento, and has carried the desire to sign the veteran into his new job in New York.
The question is: What would the pros and cons be of the New York Knicks potentially signing veteran wing Alan Anderson?
