Kristaps Porzingis is committing to a rigorous training regimen during the 2017 offseason. Find out what the New York Knicks phenom has been doing.

The New York Knicks have found a rising star with an impeccable work ethic. Throughout his brief NBA career, power forward Kristaps Porzingis has justified the hype with his commitment to being better than the masses expected him to be.

As the Knicks prepare for the next chapter in the franchise’s illustrious history, Porzingis is doing everything in his power to ensure that he’ll be able to adequately fill his role.

Porzingis has taken some time away from the Knicks, but fans shouldn’t confuse that with an idle offseason. He’s making the most of his opportunity to develop on his own terms, with a training regimen that would impress even the fiercest of workers.

Porzingis revealed the details of his multifaceted workout schedule in an interview with Shaun Powell of NBA.com.

"“Been working three times a day, lifting weights, running on the track, swimming, basketball, all kinds of stuff,” he said. “Just trying to get myself stronger for next season. It’s going to be a big year for me. I’m so excited, putting in so much work. I can’t wait play again and have it show on the court.”"

No one can possibly question how hard Porzingis is willing to work in order to achieve the highest level of success in the NBA.

The fact that Porzingis is working out three times a day is reason enough to be in awe of the commitment he’s displaying. The fact that he’s doing more than just lifting weights is a sign that he’s being methodical about how he develops his body and game.

With a conscious effort to improve his strength and fluidity, it stands to reason that Porzingis will come back as an even greater physical mismatch in 2017-18.

It’s even more plausible that he’ll return with a stronger offensive arsenal after seeing video of him training with Dirk Nowitzki.

Porzingis has already made tremendous progress during his two-year NBA career. In 2015-16, he became the first rookie in NBA history to record at least 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, 100 blocks, and 75 3-point field goals made.

In 2016-17, he became the first player in franchise history to record at least 100 blocks and 100 3-point field goals in a single season. He also became the tallest player in league history to convert at least 100 shots from beyond the arc in a single season.
