New York Knicks: 5 goals for Frank Ntilikina’s rookie season
2. Learn All You Can
The one thing every single rookie should do in their first season is learning all they can from the veterans and coaching staff. The New York Knicks lack a veteran point guard at the moment, but that’s no excuse for not being able to learn about veterans such as Joakim Noah and Courtney Lee.
Knicks head coach Jeff Hornacek was also a successful guard in the league, and was a significant part of the Utah Jazz’s NBA Finals runs in 1997 and 1998. Hornacek was not only an All-Star, but played with all-time point guards such as John Stockton and Kevin Johnson.
Hornacek would be a great influence for Ntilikina.
The Knicks are still interested in acquiring a veteran point guard to help groom Ntilikina and Ron Baker. New York is attempting to find that player via trade, as the free agent market for point guards has dwindled down.
Whether or not the Knicks are successful in acquiring a veteran point guard, there are still plenty of options for Ntilikina to learn from.
