The New York Knicks are reportedly interested in unrestricted free agent Ben McLemore. What would the pros and cons be of potentially signing McLemore?

The New York Knicks are focused on creating a sustainable future. With an emphasis being placed on developing young talent, general manager Steve Mills has positioned New York to make good on that vision.

As the Knicks survey the landscape and evaluate the safest possible options in free agency, Mills is simultaneously displaying a willingness to take chances.

New York has been linked to a number of high-profile free agents, including George Hill and Derrick Rose. While all eyes remain on the point guard position, it appears as though the Knicks are intrigued by the possibility of adding another player at the 2.

According to Chris Haynes of ESPN, the player whom the Knicks are currently intrigued by is former Sacramento Kings shooting guard Ben McLemore.

McLemore has failed to justify the pre-draft hype, but four years into his NBA career, he remains an intriguing player.

McLemore was drafted at No. 7 overall in the 2017 NBA Draft, but never seemed to find his footing with the Kings. The same could be said for many players who went to Sacramento, which creates some measure of forgiveness for his inconsistencies.

The question is: What would the pros and cons be if the New York Knicks were to sign Ben McLemore in free agency?
