With the 2017 NBA Finals and awards show completed, the 2017-18 season has officially begun for the New York Knicks. Free agency will commence on July 1, the moratorium period will run from July 1 to July 6, and rumors will swirl throughout.
While all of the madness transpires on the rumor mill, however, a number of teams, including the Knicks, will be looking ahead to the future during that same window.
Starting on July 1, the Knicks will take part in the 2017 Orlando Summer League. It will provide the coaching staff and front office with an early look at some of the most promising young players on the roster, as well as a crop of roster hopefuls.
With less than a week before the games begins, the Knicks released the full list of players who will make up the 2017 Orlando Summer League roster.
New York could simultaneously develop its promising young players and discover some diamonds in the rough.
Three of the players on the roster were selected in the 2017 NBA Draft: Frank Ntilikina, Damyean Dotson, and Ognjen Jaramaz. Maurice N’Dour, Marshall Plumlee, and Chasson Randle played for the Knicks in 2016-17, and a number of others are being targeted for main roster spots.
The question is: Who exactly are the 13 players on the Orlando Summer League roster and how might they be able to help the New York Knicks?
