Rival executives believe that the New York Knicks are open to trading Kristaps Porzingis. What exactly do you need to know about these trade rumors?

The New York Knicks have found a rare sense of promise and security with power forward Kristaps Porzingis. Selected at No. 4 overall in the 2017 NBA Draft, Porzingis has represented a sustainably bright future.

Unfortunately, just two years into his NBA career, Porzingis is already the subject of shocking and potentially alienating trade rumors.

Porzingis is currently in Latvia, which isn’t necessarily reason to be skeptical or concerned. What is troubling, however, is that he and the Knicks have been out of touch since he skipped his exit meeting in April.

Porzingis and Mindaugas Kuzminskas trained together in Latvia, but the likes of Phil Jackson, Steve Mills, and Jeff Hornacek have been left out of the loop.

Porzingis’ brother and agent, Janis, spoke with Jackson shortly after the exit meeting fiasco transpired. The hope was that the two sides could mend fences following Porzingis’ decision and Jackson’s perceived disregard for team morale.
