Jayson Tatum could go as high as No. 3 and as low as No. 8, and Jonathan Isaac could go as early as No. 2 and as late as No. 10. Knowing that to be true, one would think that the debate would be louder between Isaac and Tatum.

Isaac would be my personal choice, but it’s trending in the direction of Tatum being selected at No. 6 or earlier—and, in fairness, with good reason.

The Orlando Magic have many flaws, but the primary issue is the lack of a true identity. Frank Vogel is attempting to convince his team to buy in on defense, but offensively, Orlando remains without a true go-to scoring option.

That’s been the issue since Dwight Howard was traded, and Tatum would go a long way towards addressing that undeniable void in the lineup.

Tatum bases his game out of the mid post, where he’s comfortable pulling up from midrange or putting his shoulder into opponents on the drive. His low post game is advanced for a player his age, and his 3-point shot is at least respectable.

The New York Knicks will have a realistic opportunity to select Jayson Tatum at No. 8 overall, but in this scenario, he fills the most pressing need Orlando has.
