It would have been ideal to select Derrick White here, but it’s time to start thinking worst-case scenario. Jabari Parker has now suffered two major knee injuries during his brief NBA career, and there’s no guaranteeing that he’ll become the star he was on pace to be.

Knowing that to be true, the Bucks take a chance on the best player available and find the missing piece at the center position: Ike Anigbogu.

Derrick White is an option at point guard, but Anigbogu would alleviate a significant amount of defensive pressure from Giannis Antetokounmpo. He’s still finding his identity offensively, but Anigbogu is a big-body 5 who isn’t afraid to get physical.

Coupled with his 7’6″ wingspan and freshman season average of 3.7 blocks per 40 minutes, Anigbogu could be the interior anchor who stabilizes the defense.

On the other end, Anigbogu pulled down an average of 4.4 offensive rebounds per game. Thus, if Antetokounmpo plays the 3 and Thon Maker is the long-term answer at power forward, then Anigbogu could be the fix at center.

My personal pick would be for Milwaukee to take Colorado Buffaloes point guard Derrick White, but the Bucks desperately need rebounding and rim protection.

There are solid enough options at guard in Round 2 to take a chance here.
