The 2017 NBA Draft is flush with talent and potential. How might it play out and who would the New York Knicks select to reflect the value of a point guard?

The 2017 NBA Draft is shaping up to be a shining example of the value of the point guards. For the New York Knicks and countless other teams around the NBA, the most pressing need on the roster will be finding a prospect at the most prominent position of the modern era.

The question is: just how far might teams be willing to go in order to find the point guard who rounds their respective rosters into form?

Some of the top prospects in the 2017 NBA Draft are projected to play the point guard position. That includes Lonzo Ball, De’Aaron Fox, and Markelle Fultz, who are being considered for the No. 1 and No. 2 overall selections in the annual selection process.

The list also includes the likes of Malik Monk, Frank Ntilikina, and Dennis Smith Jr., whom the Knicks are rumored to be considering at No. 8.

There will be options other than the point guard position for New York, including small forwards Jonathan Isaac and Jayson Tatum. Further down the board, trade options will appear and organizations will explore the possibility of winning without a star-caliber point guard.

In this mock draft, the New York Knicks and the other teams around the NBA determine just how valuable a point guard can be to the future of their respective organizations.
