Duke Blue Devils combo guard Frank Jackson could be a steal of a selection in the 2017 NBA Draft. The New York Knicks should consider him.

The teams that truly ace the NBA Draft are those that are able to find high-level players outside of the lottery. Lottery picks remain of incomparable value, but if the New York Knicks are going to build a true contender, then they can’t let one pick dictate their future.

As the Knicks search for diamonds in the rough, a recently scouted prospect may be the steal of a draft pick whom Phil Jackson is looking for.

When Frank Jackson entered the collegiate ranks, few knew what to expect of him. He became a star during his high school career, but the foundation of his rise to fame was built upon YouTube highlight videos that failed to showcase the full extent of his game.

According to DraftExpress, Knicks executives, including Phil Jackson and Steve Mills, recently attended the BDA Agency workout in Los Angeles (h/t Ian Begley of ESPN New York).

"Members of the Knicks front office, including president Phil Jackson, attended at least two recent agency workouts in Los Angeles, according to DraftExpress.com. Jackson, GM Steve Mills and other Knicks execs attended the Roc Nation agency workout and the BDA agency workout in Los Angeles this week, per DraftExpress, which also attended the workouts."

One of the most intriguing prospects who was present at the BDA agency workout was Duke Blue Devils combo guard Frank Jackson.

Jackson is a polarizing figure who’s currently ranked No. 41 by DraftExpress and No. 27 by Chad Ford of ESPN Insider. Those are two vastly different projections, but there’s a chance Jackson could be available for the Knicks to select at either No. 44 or with a second first-round draft pick.

The question is: why should the New York Knicks consider investing a 2017 NBA Draft pick in Duke combo guard Frank Jackson?
