20. Portland Trail Blazers: Isaiah Hartenstein, Zalgiris

Position: Power Forward
Age: 19 (5/5/1998)
Height, Weight, Wingspan: 7’1.25″, 250 pounds, 7’2.25″
2016-17 Slash Line: .490/.276/.698
2016-17 Season Averages: 11.6 MPG, 4.3 PPG, 3.2 RPG, 0.8 ORPG, 0.6 APG, 0.8 SPG, 0.5 BPG

The Portland Trail Blazers went defense with pick No. 15, and there should be no qualms about doing so. At pick No. 20, Portland follows a somewhat similar route with an emphasis on upside at the interior positions.

The Trail Blazers need stability at the power forward position and German big man Isaiah Hartenstein could help on both ends of the floor.

Hartenstein is an aggressive big man who can finish in traffic and space the floor with a 3-point shot. He isn’t afraid to drive the lane and embrace the physicality of the game, and he’s comfortable dishing it back out on defense.

The Trail Blazers need a big man who can step up on both ends of the floor, and Hartenstein and Jursuf Nurkic would be perfect complements to one another.

Hartenstein’s size could be an invaluable tool for the Trail Blazers on both ends of the floor. With his high release point on his jump shot and an improving ability to redirect shots on defense, he and Nurkic could play well off of one another.

With three first-round draft picks, the Trail Blazers can afford to gamble on a potential draft-and-stash player with star potential.
