Alternative Options

The first of three alternative options at No. 58 overall in the 2017 NBA Draft is Nigel Williams-Goss. Physically, the Gonzaga Bulldogs point guard has elite speed and agility, a 6’3″ and 190-pound frame, and a 6’7.25″ wingspan that permits lockdown defense.

On the court, Williams-Goss is of a pass-first mentality and puts his size to use by crashing the boards and competing on defense.

The second option is a Daily Knicks favorite in Houston Cougars shooting guard Damyean Dotson. Dotson has a prototypical build for an NBA shooting guard at just under 6’6″ and 205 pounds with a 6’9″ wingspan and a 38.0″ max vertical leap.

Most importantly, Dotson is a legitimate sharpshooter who converted 108 3-point field goals on 44.3 percent shooting in 2016-17.

The third option is Notre Dame Fighting Irish small forward V.J. Beachem. A quality athlete, Beachem stands at 6’8″ with a 6’10.25″ wingspan and a solid enough outside shot that he could be a vital piece of the triangle puzzle.

Beachem may be viewed as a system player, but a role that asks him to defend and shoot would be ideal for him at the next level.
