Having drafted a point guard who has yet to establish himself as a facilitator, the New York Knicks will need to find team-first players from hereon out. The second round isn’t guaranteed to produce long-term assets, but pick No. 44 could be of great value.

A somewhat underrated prospect, Wesley Iwundu could help the Knicks check the necessary boxes in the pursuit of a potential steal in Round 2.

Standing at just under 6’7″ with a 7’1″ wingspan, Iwundu has an elite physical profile for a shooting guard. He showed signs of being able to facilitate, as well as defensive potential that should appeal to Phi lJackson.

Iwundu is far from a perfect prospect, but he offers a bit of everything and has upside that could be worth exploring at the next level.

In the short-term, Iwundu’s size and length could be put to use as he helps the Knicks as a situational defender. In the long-term, he could be the perfect complement to Monk due to his size and invaluable ability to create for others within the flow of the offense.

Iwundu will need to solidify his outside shot, but it’s worth noting that he made 32 3-point field goals on 37.6 percent shooting after converting just 19 during his first three seasons combined.
