In this edition of the 2017 NBA mock draft, the New York Knicks are ambitiously successful. Who are the Knicks picking in this week’s projections?

The New York Knicks are rapidly approaching an event that will make or break Phil Jackson’s tenure as team president. There are a number of intriguing prospects to be found in the 2017 NBA Draft, including an abundance of potentially elite point guards.

The question is: who would the Knicks select if the 2017 NBA Draft played out in an ideal and admittedly ambitious manner?

This mock draft is prefaced by a necessary statement: it’d be a dream scenario for this to transpire. It’s not quite as optimistic as hoping De’Aaron Fox will fall to No. 8 overall, but it holds out hope that something comparable could transpire.

While Fox may be the fan favorite, it’s his college teammate and backcourt partner who could be the answer for the Knicks.

Malik Monk is projected by many as a Top 5 draft pick, but there’s an outside chance that he could be available at No. 8 overall. If that proves to be the case, then he could be the first foundational piece to be found in the 2017 NBA Draft.

The question is: why should the New York Knicks draft Malik Monk and who might be the ideal complements to him?
