3. Coachable Personality

As a 6’8″ and 232-pound small forward with a massive wingspan, explosive athleticism, and a versatile offensive game, OG Anunoby is a dream prospect. There are injury concerns, of course, and some will question whether or not he can be a true No. 1 scoring option.

If only two words can describe what makes Anunoby so intriguing, however, they would be, “Coachable,” and, “Moldable.”

Anunoby was heralded throughout his Indiana Hoosiers tenure as a player who was willing to take coaching. Head coach Tom Crean is a polarizing figure with a throwback approach to coaching, yet Anunoby genuinely bought in.

For the New York Knicks, simply finding a young player who’s willing to play the style asked of him would provide a push in the right direction.

By pairing Anunoby with Willy Hernangomez and Kristaps Porzingis, the Knicks would have three players who truly love the game. Just as importantly: New York would have three players who readily commit to executing on both ends of the floor.

Egos have and always will be tough to manage in the NBA, but Anunoby has proven to be a player who’s willing to check his ego at the door if it means bettering the team.
