13. Denver Nuggets – Jarrett Allen (Texas)

With the emergence of Nikola Jokic as an all-around star in the Mile High City, the Denver Nuggets should be focused on making his job easier. With recent draft picks Jamal Murray, Emmanuel Mudiay, and Gary Harris all being backcourt players, the Nuggets should focus on giving Jokic a quality complement.

Jarrett Allen, who measured No. 1 among centers at the NBA Combine in the max vertical Leap, standing vertical, three quarter sprint, and shuttle run, should be a defensive stopper who can play behind or next to Jokic and make the paint impenetrable for opposing teams.

14. Miami Heat – John Collins (Wake Forest)

The surprise Miami Heat were able to finish 41-41 and compete for a playoff spot until the bitter end, despite not having much of an identity in the wake of the loss of the “Big Three”. With Hassan Whiteside and Justise Winslow in place as the first pieces of the rebuild, John Collins can fortify that frontcourt given the presumed end of Chris Bosh’s tenure with the Heat.

With the impending free agency of Udonis Haslem, Luke Babbitt, and James Johnson, there’s a clear void at the four spot in South Beach.
