1. Boston Celtics – Markelle Fultz (Washington)

The Boston Celtics truly can have their cake and eat it too. While currently getting drubbed in the Eastern Conference Finals by the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Celtics will have an opportunity to add a player like Markelle Fultz, who can produce now and become a franchise cornerstone along with Jaylen Brown for the next decade.

The Celtics are bound to receive a plethora of trade offers for the pick (Paul George or Jimmy Butler, anyone?), but the opportunity to find a player who can help now and 10 years down the road is too valuable in this NBA.

2. Los Angeles Lakers – Lonzo Ball (UCLA)

LaVar Ball gets his wish. The basketball Gods must not be paying attention, but the father of the “Big Baller Brand” somehow seems to get everything he wants: media attention and his eldest son playing for his hometown team.

It’s a no-brainer for the Los Angeles Lakers, which find a transcendent point guard reminiscent of Jason Kidd to add to a young roster that includes D’Angelo Russell, Brandon Ingram, and Julius Randle. All should become exponentially better with the passing ability of Ball.

We may be discussing Fultz vs. Ball as the next great rivalry in the NBA. It helps that they will play for the two teams that wrote the book on NBA rivalries in the Celtics and Lakers.
