What if the New York Knicks don’t draft a point guard in the first round? Daily Knicks evaluates that possibility in the latest 2017 NBA Mock Draft.

As the blowouts mount in the 2017 NBA Playoffs, the New York Knicks have turned their attention to a different event: the NBA Draft. With one of the strongest prospect pools in recent memory, Phil Jackson and the Knicks will look to capitalize on a tremendous opportunity.

With Kristaps Porzingis and Willy Hernangomez projected to anchor the interior for years to come, the Knicks can find the perfect perimeter complement in 2017.

The question is: what if that perfect perimeter complement isn’t a point guard?

It may be an unpopular suggestion, but the New York Knicks would benefit from exploring the upside route here. The triangle offense is a system that’s meant to rely on ball movement rather than forcing one facilitator to completely run the show.

Knowing that to be true, the Knicks should take a chance on building what would be one of the biggest and most physically imposing lineups in the NBA.

In this 2017 NBA mock draft, the Knicks place an emphasis on building a rotation with a unique combination of size and shooting ability. It would be an intriguing way to adapt to changing times and complement Hernangomez and Porzingis with similar talent.

The question is: what would happen if the New York Knicks were to emphasize size and shooting over the point guard position?
