Kobi Simmons is a rather unproven commodity, but he’s one of the most promising players in the 2017 NBA Draft. He was one of the stars of the 2017 NBA Draft Combine and could parlay that success into being a second-round draft pick.

If the New York Knicks draft a wing in the first round, then targeting Simmons would be a wise option in Round 2 of the 2017 NBA Draft.

Simmons is a 6’5″ point guard with a 6’6″ wingspan and the end-to-end speed that every team will covet. He still needs to improve upon his current skill set and develop accordingly, but the upside is undeniable from a physical perspective.

On the defensive end of the floor, Simmons is purely capable of being one of the most reliably consistent players at the point guard position.

Simmons is a capable 3-point shooter and finisher at the rim, albeit without the consistency to score at a high level. The tools are in place for development, however, and that’s exactly what the Westchester Knicks could help him with.

Long-term, Simmons could be a starter under head coach Jeff Hornacek—and that’s a possibility worth exploring in the second round.
