Kasey Hill, Florida Gators

Position: Point Guard
Age: 23 (12/3/1993)
Height, Weight, Wingspan: 6’0.75″, 173 pounds, 6’4″
2016-17 Slash Line: .405/.205/.662
2016-17 Season Averages: 28.9 MPG, 9.7 PPG, 4.5 APG, 2.9 RPG, 1.7 SPG

Kasey Hill led the Florida Gators to a 27-9 record and an Elite Eight appearance during the 2016-17 season. It was vindication for Hill, who entered college with immeasurable hype, but struggled throughout his first three seasons.

During his senior campaign, however, Hill displayed just what it is that fans expected to see of him: defensive fervor and a gift for facilitating.

Hill is a 6’1″ point guard with a 6’4″ wingspan and a nose for the ball. He averaged 2.0 steals per 40 minutes during his four-year career at Florida, and managed to cut down on the fouls he committed during the 2016-17 campaign.

The New York Knicks need players who can create offense via defense, as evidenced by its rankings of No. 23 in steals and No. 29 in points off of turnovers in 2016-17.

Offensively, Hill has solid court vision and a valuable ability to create consistent penetration. He’s an erratic jump shooter, at best, as well as a poor free throw shooter, but he could be worth developing as an undrafted free agent.

If the Knicks are going to improve at the point guard position, then Hill could be a valuable commodity to groom long-term in Westchester.
