Knicks Rumors: New York Works Out Five 2017 NBA Draft Prospects
The New York Knicks are actively evaluating the top prospects in the 2017 NBA Draft. New York recently worked out five incoming rookies.
The New York Knicks are preparing for an event that will define the future of the organization. For just the second time since 2009, the Knicks will have a lottery pick to utilize in its attempts to build around Kristaps Porzingis.
While all eyes may be on what New York plans to do at No. 8 overall in the 2017 NBA Draft, its utilization of the second-round selections will be of tremendous importance, as well.
New York is currently in possession of the No. 44 overall and No. 58 overall selections in the 2017 NBA Draft. In preparation for the annual selection process, the Knicks have begun working out prospects.
According to Ian Begley of ESPN New York, the Knicks worked out five players on May 17: Tony Bradley, Tyler Dorsey, Kasey Hill, Kobi Simmons, and Omer Yurtseven.
"In addition to UNC’s Tony Bradley, the Knicks’ workout today included Kobi Simmons, Kasey Hill, Tyler Dorsey and Omer Yurtseven, per ESPN sources."
For those who don’t follow college basketball or the NBA Draft, that list includes three point guards and two big men.
It’s worth noting that all five players are projected second-round draft picks. New York being in possession of two second-round selections could make all five of the players who worked out for it realistic targets at No. 44 and No. 58.
The question is: who are these prospects, why should you care, and what would they bring to the New York Knicks?
