Alternative Options

For the New York Knicks, one of the top prospects on the board at this point should be Arizona Wildcats shooting guard Rawle Alkins. He could be available at No. 58, but he possesses as much pure upside as any prospect in this draft class.

Alkins’ measurements at the 2017 NBA Draft Combine were somewhat concerning, but he’s still a powerful slasher with a 40.5″ max vertical leap.

Another player worth considering at No. 44 is South Carolina Gamecocks legend and NCAA Tournament star Sindarius Thornwell. Thornwell is essentially a less athletic Kentavious Caldwell-Pope in the sense that he can create, defend, and space the floor.

Thornwell could be an ideal understudy to Courtney Le, and it’s likely that he’ll be available to the Knicks at No. 44 overall.

The wildcard here is Kostja Mushidi, who has been near the top of our Round 2 board for weeks. He’s a 6’5″ shooting guard with a 7’0″ wingspan, and while he lacks elite athleticism, he has a killer instinct and an edge on defense.

Wesley Iwundu may be the top choice right now, but the Knicks will have wings to choose from at No. 44 overall in the 2017 NBA Draft.
