Easily the most underrated pending free agent is Utah Jazz forward Joe Ingles. A versatile player who competes on both ends of the floor, Ingles has proven to be a valuable player in Quin Snyder’s masterful two-way system.

If the Jazz were to let Ingles walk for a financial reason, the New York Knicks would be in the right to make a run at acquiring his services.

Ingles has appeared in 242 of a possible 246 games through three NBA seasons. During that time, he’s converted 39.9 percent of his 3-point field goals, including a career-best mark of 44.1 percent during the 2016-17 NBA regular season.

Ingles is also a competitive defensive player who ranked No. 14 amongst small forwards in Real Plus-Minus, recording positive marks on both ends of the floor.

By signing Ingles, the Knicks would acquire a 29-year-old player who could step into a starting role or serve as the team’s sixth man. He’d compete on both ends of the floor and fit the mold of what Phil Jackson claims to be searching for: defense.

Offensively versatile and defensively rugged, Ingles would be a dream acquisition if the numbers were within reason and his role were defined.
