If the New York Knicks plan to trade Carmelo Anthony for a veteran player, then few would be better fits than Goran Dragic. Soon to be 31 years of age, Dragic has proven to still be capable of playing and producing at a star-caliber level.

With the Knicks in need of a point guard who can create for himself and others, Dragic would provide the balance that Derrick Rose struggled to.

Dragic posted identical averages of 20.3 points per game before and after the 2017 All-Star Break. The All-NBA point guard helped lead the Miami Heat’s miraculous resurgence and proved—again—to be capable of putting his team on his back.

If Anthony is intrigued by the proposition of playing in Miami for Pat Riley and Erik Spoelstra, and with Hassan Whiteside, then this could work.

Some may want Justise Winslow, but Riley recently told the media that he won’t trade his promising young forward. Thus, the ideal move would be to reunite Dragic with current Knicks head coach Jeff Hornacek.

For those unfamiliar, Dragic and Hornacek led the Phoenix Suns to 48 wins during the 2013-14 NBA regular season.
