The Verdict

Not only is the draft filled with good point guards, but this upcoming period of free agency is drowned with proficient guards. There are at least seven-plus point guards who are on the market this offseason.

The Knicks haven’t ruled out re-signing Rose, despite his torn meniscus injury.

New York has been connected to Jrue Holiday and Rose in free agency, per Ian Begley of ESPN, so drafting a point guard may not be not worth it if New York can find Carmelo Anthony’s replacement.

The Knicks’ best bet is to get a small forward who can play in the triangle. Even if ‘Melo doesn’t waive his no-trade clause, drafting a small forward is smart.

The 2013 scoring champ is aging, and his prime passed him already. Thinking about the future is what best for the Knicks.

I believe the New York Knicks should draft a small forward rather than a point guard.
