Justin Holiday

The New York Knicks may not re-sign Derrick Rose this coming summer, but they found a keeper in Justin Holiday. He routinely steps up on both ends of the floor and has been a rare source of consistency in an otherwise erratic season.

Against his former team, the Chicago Bulls, Holiday stepped up with yet another strong performance on both ends of the floor.

Holiday played 21 minutes against the Knicks, recording 12 points, four rebounds, and three assists. He shot 5-of-8 from the field and 2-of-5 from beyond the arc, and he amassed a +/- of +7 in yet another strong showing off the bench.

Though a bench player may not be the best source of optimism for a team that can’t win, Holiday represents a brighter future in New York.

Holiday’s statistics may not always jump off the page, but his versatility shines through every time out. He defends multiple positions at a high level, spaces the floor well as a 3-point shooter, creates well off the bounce, and even facilitates.

Holiday may not be the prototypical sixth man, but he’s as reliable a reserve as one can find as far as two-way players are concerned.
