Justin Holiday
If you follow Daily Knicks’ official Twitter account, then you’ve likely read an overwhelming number of tweets asking Phil Jackson to re-sign Justin Holiday. Holiday was generally viewed as a throw-in to the Derrick Rose trade, but he’s proven to be far more than that.
Against the Miami Heat, Holiday continued what’s been a quietly excellent first season with the New York Knicks.
Holiday picked up 12 points, four rebounds, two assists, one block, and one steal in 25 sensational minutes of court time. He shot 6-of-10 from the field and accumulated a +/- of +3 to further display the positive impact he has on the team.
Bigger than the numbers is the fact that Holiday again brought the competitive edge that few other Knicks have consistently provided.
Holiday’s offensive game is well-rounded, which makes him an ideal role player to bring in off the bench. He’s also a self-motivated defensive player who seems to step up on that end on a nightly basis—regardless of how the stars perform.
Re-signing Holiday could be a relatively expensive task, but he would be worth investing in based on what he brings to the table.
