The New York Knicks have a void to fill at point guard, but there are a number of 2017 NBA Draft targets who don’t play the elusive position.

The 2017 NBA Draft projects to be the most influential event in New York Knicks history. Team president Phil Jackson will have a chance to salvage his tenure by securing a third legitimate franchise cornerstone via the NBA Draft.

Though most expect the Knicks to fill the longstanding void at point guard, there are an intriguing array of options at other positions.

New York currently has two building blocks in power forward Kristaps Porzingis and center Willy Hernangomez. That’s an intriguing reality, but it’s also a polarizing truth given the fact that both are interior players.

Even with Porzingis’ unprecedented versatility, the Knicks are going to need a player who can get the ball to both Porzingis and Hernangomez.

True as that all may be, adding a star along the wings would help the Knicks build for the future. The triangle offense calls for a star-caliber perimeter scorer, and although Carmelo Anthony fits the bill, he’s only 33 years of age.

The question is: who are the 2017 NBA Draft prospects whom the New York Knicks should consider at positions other than point guard?
