Few players have done more to help their draft stock during the 2017 NCAA Tournament than Oregon Ducks star Tyler Dorsey. Dorsey still has flaws that he must address, but he’s proven to be an elite 3-point shooter and a fearless clutch performer.

Though Dorsey’s positional ambiguity may not appeal to every NBA team, he should be viewed as one of the top active prospects for the New York Knicks.

In a vast majority of systems, Dorsey could struggle due to the fact that he’s yet to establish himself as a facilitator. In the triangle offense, however, his size and proficiency as a shooter would make him the perfect point guard.

The system is at its best when no individual player is burdened with facilitating, and that would enable Dorsey to flourish in an off-ball role.

As for what he’s done in the 2017 NCAA Tournament, Dorsey may be the hottest player gunning. He’s hit two game-winners and has at least 20 points in all four of Oregon’s wins thus far, including the 27 he scored against Kansas during the Elite Eight.

Dorsey may not fit every team’s NBA Draft needs, but he could be the Derek Fisher of the contemporary triangle offense as an off-ball point guard who can consistently space the floor.
