New York Knicks: Realistic Free Agent Targets At Each Position
Small Forward
Carmeloooooooo Anthonyyyyyyyy! You may not be hearing this for much longer at Madison Square Garden, so cherish it while you can.
Pending free agent P.J. Tucker has a Defensive Real Plus-Minus of 1.28, while Carmelo Anthony checks in at -1.66. Do I even need to continue?
Anthony is clearly the better player, but Tucker would provide the perfect balance with his defensive intensity.
Though underrated, Tucker is a defensive beast. At 6’6″ and 245 pounds, he has the quickness to guard wings and the strength to guards some bigs. Thats something the Knicks desperately need along the perimeter.
Tucker is by no means a 3-and-D guy. He shoots about the same percentage from downtown as ‘Melo, but he also shoots at half the volume and only takes good looks. Anthony takes bad shots and Tucker takes good shots, and they have the same percentage.
Tucker’s offense is something that can frustrate fans, but his hustle and 90’s grit is something that fans would take a liking to.
