Shooting Guard

The New York Knicks will have Courtney Lee for three more seasons. The only question pertains to whether or not Justin Holiday will re-sign with the team.

He may leave to join his brother, Jrue Holiday, who’s also a pending free agent. Ideally, New York would keep Holiday. He and Courtney Lee are the ideal 3-and-D veterans as high IQ role players.

They’re Lance Thomas-esque in that regard.

The shooting guard position is a hard one. There are players like Manu Ginobli and Andre Iguodala who I highly doubt would leave their current situations, let alone risk their careers by coming here.

Then there are really good options like J.J. Redick. Would Lee then have to come off the bench? Would Redick want to come off the bench?

Realistically, the best move at the 2-spot in free agency would be for the Knicks to re-sign Justin Holiday.

If Courtney Lee announces that he’s ready to come off the bench, then we can come back to this.
