Jawun Evans, Oklahoma State Cowboys

Position: Point Guard
Age: 20 (7/26/1996)
Height, Weight, Wingspan: 6’1″, 177 pounds, 6’4″
2016-17 Slash Line: .438/.379/.812
2016-17 Season Averages: 29.2 MPG, 19.2 PPG, 6.4 APG, 3.4 RPG, 1.8 SPG, 1.1 3PM

There’s a strong possibility that Oklahoma State Cowboys point guard Jawun Evans will be back in college next season. If not, he’ll come off the board late in the first or early in the second round, and still fall out of the reach of the New York Knicks.

Evans appeared to reveal his intentions following the Round of 64.

Nevertheless, New York needs a point guard and Evans is a dynamic playmaker who has the skill set to adequately fit either Jeff Hornacek or Phil Jackson’s respective systems.

Evans wasn’t incredibly efficient against the Michigan Wolverines, but he put forth an undeniably outstanding effort. He finished with 23 points, 12 assists, and seven rebounds on 10-of-26 shooting from the field.

Evans also went 1-of-3 shooting from 3-point range and 2-of-3 shooting from the free throw line, but the shooting marks don’t do his performance justice.

Evans is an explosive scoring threat and a dynamic facilitator who has consistently stepped up in big games. His height could limit his draft stock, but he has a solid wingspan and intriguing upside as a two-way point guard.

Oklahoma State lost the classic game against Michigan, but Evans made quite the final in-game statement leading up to the 2017 NBA Draft.
